I’ve been listening to a lot of new/underground rap artists lately. I stumbled upon Theo Martins on Nah Right, I usually just let underground music slip through the cracks, except for a certain few. I downloaded his mixtape on a whim and I’m impressed. His lyrics are average, but his beats are bananas. You can download the mixtape, You Can’t Do That On Television, here.

This guy. . .this fucking guy. I was pretty hesitant about Vado from the first time I listened to him. I’ve supported him from the jump since I love me some Cam’Ron[II], but this track just cemented it for me. He isn’t the greatest rapper in the world, but he tries. This beat GOES.

His attempt to re-create Big L’s “Ebonics” at the end kind of fails, but I’ll just say its an homage instead of a re-creation.
